William J. Peters

William "Bill" James Peters, 80, of Elizabeth Township, died Tuesday, July 10, 2018. He was born June 25, 1938 in Monessen and was the son of the late Raymond O. and Bertha (Pearce) Peters. Bill was a member of Central Highlands Community Methodist Church, and was a life member of Central Fire Co. He was a member and past president of the Central Lions Club and was a volunteer at the Central Food Pantry for over 20 years. Bill was retired from US Steel Clairton Works after 42 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Dolores Jean (Mazzeferri) Peters, sons, Dean (Melania) Peters of Jefferson Hills and William James Peters, Jr., of Elizabeth Township, brother, Raymond Peters of Yardley, grandchildren, Jeana, Kaleena, and Arianna Peters, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Peters and sister, Rita Riggle. Friends are welcome Friday, July 13, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, director. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday at 10 am with the Rev. W. Stephen Morse, officiating. Private burial will be in Lebanon Church Cemetery, West Mifflin.
