Trisha Lyle Ten, 49, of Elizabeth, passed away Tuesday, July 6, 2021 after a courageous, hard fought 7 year battle with sarcoma. She was born October 24, 1971 in McKeesport and was the daughter of M. Patricia (Aranyos) Lyle and the late John C. Lyle. After graduating from Slippery Rock University, where she was a beloved and fun member of Alpha Xi Delta, she moved to Albuquerque, NM. There, she impacted the lives of students and fellow educators during her decorated career at Albuquerque Public Schools and as the director of special education at Cottonwood Classical Preparatory School. While in Albuquerque, Trisha was a foster mom to her very special son Rob. After moving back to Pittsburgh, she continued her fight at Hillman Cancer Center where she endured her treatments with her trademark grit, stubborn nature and sense of humor. With her generous spirit, Trisha loved helping and doing for others. She volunteered with many organizations and especially loved all of her ladies at Meals on Wheels. Trisha was an extraordinary mom. She devoted everything she had to being the best mom possible and loved her children fiercely. Because of her, they always felt loved and protected. There was never a day that passed where she didn’t say I love you. She will be greatly missed by her son Tyberius Ten, (currently making his mother proud at Marine Corps Boot Camp), daughters, Katana Ten and Roxilana Ten, mother M. Patricia (Aranyos) Lyle, sisters Melissa (Lyle) Veltum and Maura Lyle, ex-husband and friend, Lenard Ten and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and family members who loved her dearly. Trisha was preceded in death by her father, John C. Lyle. Friends are welcome from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm Friday, July 9, 2021, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 1638 Lincoln Way White Oak, PA 15131, (412) 672-6322. Troy J. Gilbert director.
