Robert Morelle Blamick

Robert Morelle Blamick, 69, of Elizabeth Township, died Friday, June 8, 2018. He was born April 25, 1949 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Robert S. and Lois J. (Morgan) Blamick. He was a member of Evangelical Congregational Church in McKeesport and was Superintendent of Church Sunday School. He was a retired Math Instructor at Derry Area School District where he taught  7th and 8th graders. Robert was a member of the Mathematics Council of Western Pennsylvania and was a volunteer for area Algebra and Intergrated Student Math Contests. He was instrumental in Derry Area fundraisers for The Children' Hospital of Pittsburgh. He was a member of Boy Scouts of America and was Scout Master for Troop # 99 in Mt. Vernon. He was also a Eagle Scout and member of the Order of the Arrow. He was president of Golden Oldies Bowling League at Stan's White Oak Bowl. Robert was a volunteer at the McKeesport Intersection and also provided free tax service for local AARP members. He is survived by his sister, Cherylann and her husband Corey Lopatofsky and his niece and goddaughter, Sarah M. Lopatofsky of Delmar, DE. Friends are welcome Sunday, June 10, 2018 from 4-6 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, director. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday at 6 pm. The Rev. Glen Irvin will officiate. Graveside service will held Monday, June 11 at 10 am in Penn Lincoln Memorial Park, North Huntingdon (Everyone please meet at Cemetery). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Boy Scout Troop # 99  at 2200 Buena Vista Road, McKeesport PA 15135 or Evangelical Congregational Church at 312 Olive Street, McKeesport, PA 15132.
