Michael J. Palyo, 78, of Lincoln Borough, passed away Friday, November 9, 2018. He was born August 4, 1940 in Clairton and was the son of the late Michael and Helen (Duch) Palyo. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Mary Ann (Gajdzik) Palyo; his loved and greatly appreciated children, Deborah (Thomas) Honaker of Elizabeth Township, Mark Palyo of Columbia, VA, John (Kae) Palyo of Lincoln Borough; his grandsons, who he adored and loved dearly, Derrick (Ashlee) Honaker, Ryan (Gabriella) Honaker, Jacob (Katrina) Palyo, and McGregor Palyo and his granddaughter, Emma Palyo, who he loved dearly and was his pride and joy, and his 3 special great-granddaughters, Reese, Ada and Lena Honaker, brother-in-law, David (Chris) Warner, uncle, John Vento, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Warner. Michael was a member of St. Mark Parish- St. Eugene Worship Site in Liberty Borough. He was a former member of St. Martin de Porres (Holy Trinity) where he was a Eucharistic Minister and delivered Holy Communion to the homebound. He was employed by the US Post Office, Clairton and Large Branches. He was also a Police Officer in Lincoln Borough and an Auxiliary Police Officer in Clairton. Michael was a member of the Clairton Sportsman's Asociation. His favorite hobby was Skeet Shooting every Monday with his buddy, Butch Carter. This gave Michael many years of enjoyment. Friends are welcome Monday, November 12, 2018 from 2-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000  Drew J. Gilbert, Director. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 13, 2018 at 10:00 am in St. Mark Parish-St. Eugene Worship Site in Liberty Borough. Interment will follow in Corpus Christi Cemetery Calvary Cemetery, Port Vue. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to UPMC Family Hospice at 412-572-8821. The family would like to give a special thanks to Dr. Kevin Kane and his staff, the Nurses and Aids on 3 Mansfield, and Dr. Pomiecko for all his care.
