Lois M. Martin

June 16, 1921 — March 3, 2024

Appleton, WI

Lois M. Martin, 102, formerly of Mount Vernon, passed away on March 3, 2024 in Appleton, Wisconsin.  Born in Boston, Pennsylvania on June 16, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Martin K. and Mary Alice Frederick (nee Spiker).  Her husband, Jack E. Martin, preceded her in death in 1999. Lois attended schools in Versailles and McKeesport before working for Brenner Photo Supply in McKeesport.  She also received photography training at the Eastman Kodak Company located in Rochester, New York.  Lois enjoyed backyard bird watching, gardening, and delighting in her flowering dogwood trees.  She also loved to dabble in several crafts.  Lois would often send her creations to family members who never knew what they would find in the boxes, but never doubted they were made from and sent with her unconditional love. Preceding her in death were siblings Anna Mae Geruschat, Arnold F. Frederick, Charles M. Frederick, and Verda J. Donaldson.  She will be deeply missed by nieces Karen A. Curry, Wrightstown, Wisconsin and Kathy J. Donaldson, Lebanon, Pennsylvania.  Also surviving are additional nieces and nephews.  There will be no viewing or visitation.  Burial services will be private at Mt. Vernon Cemetery. The family gratefully thanks the caregivers of Helen’s House, Community Care, and Moments Hospice for their loving and compassionate care provided to Lois. Arrangements are by Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc, 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director.
