Kenneth Lee Zeiler

March 16, 1952 — April 22, 2025

Buena Vista

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Kenneth "Ken" Lee Zeiler, 73, of Buena Vista, who passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2025. He was born March 16, 1952 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William Edward and Sara Elizabeth (Betts) Zeiler. A lifelong resident of Buena Vista, Ken was a graduate of Elizabeth Forward High School and later Rosedale Technical Institute. Ken was affectionately known as "Zi" to close friends and he truly lived by the phrase "work hard, play hard". He was employed as a mechanic for Spear Chevrolet, a steel worker for Fort Pitt Steel, a bus mechanic for The Allegheny County Port Authority, and later as a plumber with both Boston and Scott Boyd Plumbing. Above all, Ken enjoyed his free time riding his Harley Davidson motorcycle. Whether it was making yearly runs to Sturgis, South Dakota, or participating in local events, he embraced his love of riding and fellowship of its close-knit community. He was a remarkably giving person, never granting a second thought to helping someone in need. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his son, Christopher (Jennifer) Zeiler of Buena Vista; grandchildren, Emily Zeiler, Owen Zeiler and Charlotte Zeiler, all of Buena Vista; his brother, Lloyd Zeiler of Buena Vista; his sister, Kimberly (Joseph) Capo of Buena Vista; close nieces and nephew, Tracy Prontiker, Jade Capo and Woody Capo; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Patricia Korieth and Norma Jean Zeiler. Per his request, there will be not be visitation or services. Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, Director.
