John Jefferson Downing, Sr.

John Jefferson Downing, Sr., 72, of McKeesport, passed away Friday, February 28, 2025. He was born on January 7, 1953 and was the son of the late Leonard Wayne, Sr. and Barbara (Hite) Downing. He was the loving husband of 32 years to Melita "Lita" (Horne) Downing. John was a US Army Veteran. He enjoyed taking his son to drag races and tractor pulls at Bud's Creek, Maryland and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his sons, John Jefferson (Kelly) Downing, Jr. of Maryland and Thomas Downing of McKeesport; grandchildren, Julia, Nate and Hailey; brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews and cousins.
