James “Jimmy” or “Hank” Gaudy, of White Oak, passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 27, 2024, surrounded by his loving family and friends. Born on October 28, 1932, in McKeesport, James was preceded in death by his parents, Anthony and Helen (Barey) Gaudy, sister, Jean, and dear longtime family friends Harold W. “Chick” and Lavona (Ratzer) Douglas, and Terri (Douglas) Kevana. James, a 1951 graduate of McKeesport High School, served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War alongside his twin brother, Joseph “Joe,” as a member of the 3rd Division Honor Guard. Subsequently, James worked as a Foreman at First Sterling Inc. and AMO Industries. James will be remembered as a devoted son, brother, uncle, and friend who would do anything to help those he loved. Although he was a man of few words, his actions expressed his love for those around him. He was also an avid Pittsburgh sports fan, spending many happy hours watching games with his family and friends. James is survived by his twin brother, Joe, nephews Jeff, Greg, and Dave Gaudy, as well as numerous cousins, great-nephews, and nieces. He is also survived by longtime family friends Susan (Dominec) Amatangelo, Candice Douglas (Bill Townsend), Cathy (John) Pavlovic, Heather Vukoson, John Jr. and Mark (Katlyn) Pavlovic, Kathryn Townsend Kashurba (Joe), Christina Amatangelo Anderson (Kyle), David Amatangelo, and Christopher and Sherri Kevana (fiancé Jake Hajostek). Friends are welcome Monday, July 1, 2024, from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc. 1638 Lincoln Way, White Oak (412) 672-6322 Troy J. Gilbert, director. The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 10:00 a.m., with interment to follow at Penn Lincoln Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the VFW in Irwin.
