George Darwin Madar, 79, of Delmont, passed away Sunday, August 20, 2023. He was born July 24, 1944 in Madison, WI., and was the son of the late George and Yvonne (Hanson) Madar. George had worked for the former US Steel Homestead Works and had 19 1/2 years of service. He was a US Air Force Veteran serving during the Vietnam War. For his service, he received the Citations for Combat Defense Ribbon, Expert Gun Ribbon, Good Conduct and Longevity. He served from 1963 to 1967 and was stationed in Turkey and Grand Forks Air Force Base. He was the beloved husband of Carol Ann (Thomas) Madar, loving father of Jill (Ryan) Prah of Elizabeth Township and Thomas (Ashley) Madar of Grove City, OH, grandfather of Alyssa Dellasalla, Ryan Dellasalla, Megan Madar, Nathan Madar, Daniel Madar, Andrew Madar and Baby Boy Madar due December 29, 2023, sisters, Trudie (John) Fawcett of Summerville, WV and Kathleen (Kirk) Hagerty of Rostraver, nieces, Julie Blankenship, Kelly Hagerty, Jacquie Bryner, Gail Lydon, and Dawn Bock, nephews, Kris Hagerty and Dayne Walman. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Timothy Madar and nephew, David Fawcett.
