Evan E. Hughes

Evan E. Hughes, 79, of Boston, Elizabeth Township, died Tuesday, March 13, 2018. He was born January 24, 1939 in Clairton and was the son of the late Henry C. Hughes, Sr., and the late Katherine (Watson) Hughes. He was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township, the National Education Association and was a member and past president of the former Versailles AARP. Evan was a collective bargaining expert and was a retired Negotiator with the Florida Teaching Profession. He is survived by his wife, Ethel (Anater) Hughes, son, Glen (Nita) Hughes of Albuquerque, NM, daughter, Dana Sorick of Munhall, grandchildren, Jessica and Daniel Snyder, brother, Henry Hughes, Jr. of Pottstown, niece, Linda (Marty) Vollmuth and nephew, Brian (Christine) Hughes. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nicole Megan Hughes. There is no visitation. Private graveside service will be held at Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills. The Rev. Thomas Wagner will officiate. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to your favorite charity.
