March 22, 1931 — March 16, 2025

Elizabeth Township

Emily Virginia Moore, 93, of Elizabeth Township passed away at home on Sunday, March 16, 2025. She was born in McKeesport on March 22, 1931 to the late Mathias D. and Lillian (Uhlig) Lathrop. She was the loving wife to the late Rev. Charles Moore before his passing in March 2013. Her husband Charles was in the Air Force, which gave them the opportunity to live in many places while raising their two sons. They traveled for 20+ years with the service and in turn, Charles became a minister at Central Highlands United Methodist Church, where Emily sang alongside him. She would preach through her music and sang with a voice too good for anything else. She was even on the radio station, WMCK, in McKeesport back in the day. Emily also worked a few years for the Union National Bank as a bank teller. She is survived by her two wonderful sons, Charles "Curly" (Deborah) Moore of Allegheny Township, and Jeffrey (Laurie) Moore of Elizabeth Township; grandchildren, Dana (Mario) Marsinetti, Jeffrey Moore, and Lindsay (Christopher) Adamson; as well as great-grandchildren, Alisa (Austin Menhart) Marsinetti, Alaina Marsinetti, Ayden Canova, and Allyson Moore; her sister, Elaine (the late William) Ross; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, Emily is preceded in death by her brother, Douglas Frank Lathrop. There are no services at this time. Arrangements are with the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc.. 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J. Gilbert, director.
