Dolores H. "Dee" Thumm

Dolores H. “Dee” Thumm, age 91, of White Oak, PA, passed away on January 2, 2025. She was born on January 1, 1934, in McKeesport, PA, a daughter of the late Ulderico Carlino and Evelyn (DiNino) Carlino, and beloved wife of the late Robert Thumm.

Dee had a strong Christian faith and would witness to anyone of her love for the Lord. She served as a Salvation Army officer in New York City, and as a missionary with Campus Crusade for Christ in Iran and Cypress, allowing her the opportunity to visit Jordan, Israel, and Italy. She had excellent secretarial skills and after her return to the United States worked for Cornerstone TV and the Episcopal Diocese of Pittsburgh.

 Dee was a member of First Evangelical Free Church for over 30 years, sang in the choir, was involved in Senior Achievers, Bible study groups, visitations, and the shepherd ministry. She loved music, enjoyed reading, bargain shopping, and doing word search puzzles. She was a people person and freely extended her friendship to others. 

Dee is survived by her sister Evelyn “Evie” (the late Mel) Rutter of White Oak, nephews Brian Rutter and Derek Rutter of White Oak, siblings Mary Ann (John) Edeen of Manchester, NJ, Angie (the late Zig) Rice of Spring Hill, FL, Paul (Joan) Carlino and Augie (Bobbi) Carlino both of Myrtle Beach, SC, and nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by sister Lucy (the late Allen) Cranford. 

The family wishes to express sincere thanks to the staff at Riverside Health & Rehab Center, Suncrest Hospice, and Grane Hospice for the compassionate care Dee received over the last four years.
