Dolores Mary Ruth Dolansky Jacobs (she loved that she had so many names), 68 of California, PA, died Thursday, June 28, 2018 at home. She was born February 12, 1950 in Finleyville to the late Theodore Edward and Priscilla Lewis Dolansky. Dolores was always a little tiny spitfire who said exactly what was on her mind and you never had to guess what she was thinking or how she felt. She always had people laughing. She had no filter and we always felt the need to say to people “excuse my mother she has had 2 brain aneurisms” and the were response would be “oh okay that makes sense then”. She had a young handsome doctor once and while he was asking her questions she stopped and said “Do you even know what you’re talking about? Because how old are you, you aren’t even old enough to be out of college yet and you are acting like a doctor” Oh her mouth! She lived a life of many illnesses yet overcame them all. Quite a few times doctors told her she was a miracle because her odds of living through some of the things she went through were slim to none and there she would tell them she was made of steel. She lived simply on disability and milk (Jesus, Mary and Joseph that woman drank more milk than a nursing calf), white Russians (mixed with milk of course and not cream), Land O Lakes butter, Delmonico Steaks, Bounty Paper towels, Tide Pods, and tons of Clorox Bleach because she needed her name brands and could do because she had clothes and shoes from 35 years ago she still wore. She never complained about what she didn’t have or how poor her health was or the things and freedoms she had lost after her 2nd aneurism. Life was rough but that woman made the best of what she had! She had an impact on many people and the family loves hearing the memories people have been sharing. Her death is sad and heartbreaking but we find comfort in knowing she was tired and wasn’t afraid to die and be with her family that would be waiting for her wherever it is we go when we leave this lifetime. So when we remember Dolores, shed tears but always smile and celebrate what a great person she was to so many people! We will always remember our Nanny Goat and hold her spunky spirit in our hearts! She is survived by her daughter, Lisa (Jacobs) Wood, sons-in-law, Jason Sinay and Ed Wood, siblings, Priscilla and Larry Pinksosky, Mark Dolansky, Evelyn Leete and Jeff Dolansky, grandchildren Kayla and Steve, Kira and John, Kirk and Jenna, Hunter, Will and Kasia , great-grandchildren, Karson, Kameron, Chaellen and Starlynn. Dolores is preceded in death by quite a few family members and the hardest for her was the passing of her son, William John Jacobs when he was 42 years old and her daughter, Amie Jo (Jacobs) Sinay when she was 41. These deaths were rough on her because they were her children. She also had a twin sister, Dorothy, who died at child birth but she still talked about having a twin all the time. She is also preceded in death by her grandson Kyle Jacobs, her brother Teddy Dolansky and of course many other family and friends. By Dolores’ wish there is no visitation.
