Delphine C. Sowa

Delphine C. "Del" Sowa, 86, of Liberty Boro, passed away peacefully at home on Tuesday, May 21, 2019. She was born December 30, 1932 in Port Vue and was the daughter of the late Thomas H. and Elizabeth Taylor Mclean Roberts. She was the wife of the late John W. Sowa, who passed away February 6, 2008. Delphine was a member of the Jehovah's Witness Kingdom Hall in West Mifflin and worked many years as a nursing assistant. She loved playing cards, especially Pinochle, going to Kennywood and riding the Jackrabbit and Thunderbolt, and going to Pirates games, but most importantly, she loved spending time with her nieces and nephews. She is survived by nephews, Clyde "Ed" McPherson of Liberty and Nelson (Theresa) Lynch of Lowber, nieces Cheryl L. Thomas of McGrann, whom took care of Delphine, and Margaret "Jane" Lynch of Liberty, son, David McPherson of New Eagle, special grandson, David McPherson, as well as other grandchildren, brother-in-law, Nelson Lynch of Liberty and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, William, Edward, Thomas and Robert Roberts and sisters, Irene McPherson and Margaret Lynch. Services are private.
