Byron W. White, 78, of Belle Vernon, died Tuesday, May 16, 2017. He was born October 4, 1938 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William B. White and the late Elizabeth Leake. Byron was the former proprietor of The Gun Rack in Belle Vernon . He was a member of Blythe Lodge # 0593 F & AM, the NRA, the Ohio Gun Collectors Club, and was a life member of The Pennsylvania Gun Collectors Association. He had previously worked for the former Copperweld Steel and US Steel Duquesne Works. He is survived by his wife of 32 years, Barbara J. (Herrschaft) Sorg White, children, Byron W. (Christina) White, II, of Elizabeth Township, Desiree (David) Hodge of Hendersonville, TN, William (Amy) Sorg of Salisbury, MD, and Michael (Amanda) Sorg of Port Vue, sisters, Beverly (Ken) Katona and Delores (Wick) Lovett of West Newton, Betty (Frank) Smith and Cathy Bridges of Keyser, WV, and Jeannie (Glidden) McCoole of Winchester, VA, brothers, Richard E. (Vicki) DeLong of West Newton, Richard (Ava) Leake of Belle Vernon, and Gerald (Maryjane) Leake of Elizabeth Township, grandchildren, Walker, David, Kyra, Ashlyn, Tyler and Emmalyn, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Billy White and granddaughter, Breonna White. There is no visitation.
