Penny Locke, 73, of North Versailles, passed away Saturday, March 18, 2017 at Forbes Regional Hospital. Penny was born March 5, 1944 in Pittsburgh and was the daughter of the late Anthony and Helen Hostetler Tapparo. She was a graduate of Clarion University, where she obtained her Bachelor's Degree of Science. She taught at The Boyd School as an educator for future travel agents. She worked as a travel consultant for TWA many years, as well as an activity director for a stroke support group. Penny was a member of Round Hill Presbyterian Church, The Daughters of the American Revolution (through her relation to Cpt. Daniel Stoy), The Titanic Historical Society, The Frick Historical Center and was a contributor to the Pittsburgh Cultural Trust, Center for the Arts. Penny is survived by a niece, Diane J. (Mick) DeStefano of Elizabeth Twp, nephews, Michael Mains of South Park and Christopher Tapparo of Florida, extended family, Don and Jan Williams, Deniece Teklinski, Sandy (Bill) Woncheck and Ashley Woncheck. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister, Mary Anne Queiser and brother, Michael Tapparo. Following Penny's wishes there will not be any visitation or funeral services. Private inurnment will take place at a later date at Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles.
