Nellie Ruth (Rugg) Faix, 88, of North Huntingdon, formerly of Elizabeth Township, went to be with the Lord and joined her beloved husband "Pete" on Tuesday January 17, 2017. She was born April 3, 1928 in Fort Hill and was the daughter of the late Simon Peter and Jennie Marie Phillippi Rugg. She was the wife of the late Earl F. "Pete" Faix who died January 15, 2008. They were married for 57 years. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church in North Huntingdon and was a former member St. Patrick Parish in Christy Park, and St. Denis Church in Versailles. Nellie was a 1946 graduate of Confluence High School and was a 1949 graduate of the Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Cumberland, MD with an RN degree. She worked for McKeesport Hospital, Homestead Hospital and Jefferson Regional Hospital. Her life of service was dedicated to her family, her patients and to The Intersection in McKeesport. Her greatest accomplishment and joy was raising her 6 children and guiding her 10 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. She was the loving mother of daughters, Mary (Thomas) Seng of North Huntingdon, Susan (Dale) Salada of Perryopolis, and Lisa (David) Plummer of Mount Vernon, sons, Richard (Donna) Faix of White Oak, Peter Kevin (Theresa) Faix of Gibsonia, and Mark (Debbie) Faix of Cranberry Township. She was the loving grandmother of Crista, Ricki, Michael, Justin, Heather, Jessica, Jonathan, Rebecca, Kacey, and Parker, and loving great-grandmother of Dakota, Tyler, Christian, Noah, Jack, Seamus, Jericho, and Gabriel. She was the loving sister of Opal Harbaugh of Somerset, Dolly Limley of Port Vue, and Nelda "Shirley" (Sonny) Brubaker of Hooversville. She was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Rugg and sisters, Louise Scarlet, Ada and Esther Rugg. Friends are welcome Friday January 20 from 2-4 and 6-9 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (412) 751-5000 Drew J.
