Russell C. Peckman

Russell Charles Peckman 84, of Ashburn, VA, formerly of Elizabeth Twp, died Saturday December 17, 2016 at home. He was born September 14, 1932 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Floyd E. and Barbara J. Johnston Peckman. He was a member of the Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church, the Bell Pioneers, White Oak American Legion Post 701 and Duquesne McKeesport F & AM Lodge 731. Russell was a US Navy Veteran and served during the Korean War. He was a 1950 graduate of McKeesport High School and was a retired Technician for Verizon in the Mount Vernon office. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Eleanor Gettler Peckman, sons, Neil Peckman of Pasadena, MD, and Wade and his wife Julie Peckman of Ashburn, VA, sisters, Beverly Peckman Zager of York and Lorraine Peckman Gleeson of Heathrow, FL, grandchildren, Jamie, Zoe, and Liam, nieces and nephews. There is no visitation. Private burial with Military Honors will be in Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
