George M. Monezis, Jr.

George M. Monezis, Jr., 88, of McKeesport, died Wednesday, September 21, 2016 at UPMC McKeesport Hospital with his loving daughter Kathi by his side. He was born August 7, 1928 in McKeesport and was the son of the late George and Angela Masarovich Monezis He was a member of Corpus Christi Parish and the National Baker's Association. George was a master baker, decorator and proprietor of Minerva Bakery in McKeesport for many years. He had won many awards from the National Baker's Association and was a very kind hearted generous man to all who knew him. George also had a special relationship with the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church in White Oak. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Irene Bernadine Godula Monezis, son, Mark Monezis and daughter, Kathi M. Harvey of McKeesport, grandchildren, Michael and Kate Monezis and Kurt and Alaina Harvey, and son-in-law, Donald Harvey of White Oak. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the Corpus Christi Parish on Saturday, September 24, at 10:00 am, with The Rev. Stephen M. Palsa and The Rev. Nicholas M. Mastrangelo, concelebrating.
