George D. McAtee, Jr.

George D. McAtee Jr., 90, of North Huntingdon, died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at home. He was born March 14, 1925 in McKeesport and was the son of the late George D. McAtee Sr. and the late Catherine M. Bauerschmidt McAtee. He was a member of St. Agnes Catholic Church in North Huntingdon and White Oak American Legion. George was proprietor of the George D. McAtee Co., and was a WWII Veteran serving in the USMC in the Asiatic Pacific Theatre. George was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He is survived by his beloved wife, Ruth N. Gobbels McAtee, sons, David Allan (Nanette) McAtee of State College and Timothy John (Shelley) McAtee of Fox Chapel, daughter, Dawn (Charles "Butch") Nichols of Manor, daughter-in-law, Kathy J. McAtee of Cincinnati, OH, grandchildren, Jeremy, Elizabeth, Eric, Caitlin, Natalie, Patrick, Ceara, and Connor, great-grandchildren, Arabelle, Brayden, Karson, Karissa, Alexis and Zachery, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, George D. McAtee, III. and sister, Kay Elle Micosky. There is no visitation and services are private.
