David Robert Copeland

David Robert Copeland, 67, of Elizabeth Township, died Monday, December 28, 2015. He was born September 12, 1948 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Robert L. and Dorothy Gallatin Copeland. He was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church, Elizabeth Twp, White Oak American Legion Post 0701, Central Lions Club and the NRA. David was also a life member of the McKeesport Sportsman's Association. He was a retired Corrections Officer for the former Western Penitentiary and was a USMC veteran of the Vietnam War. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl D. Baich Copeland, sons, Rhett P. Copeland and Michael D. Copeland of Elizabeth Township, brothers, Daniel H. (Cindy) Copeland of Mount Pleasant and Robert "Kip" (Gaylene) Copeland of Greenock, grandson, Camdyn W. Copeland, 8 nieces, 9 nephews, 9 great-nieces and 3 great-nephews. Friends are welcome Thursday, December 31 from 6-8 pm, and Friday January 1, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held at the Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church on Saturday, January 2, at 10:00 AM with The Rev. William Starr, officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Township.
