Evelyn B. Verba

Evelyn B. Verba, 82, of Liberty Borough, died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at home. She was born January 19, 1933 in Port Vue and was the daughter of the late Michael and Eva Jacobs Betters. She was wife of the late Raymond S. Verba who died November 8, 2008. Evelyn was a member of St. Mark Parish in Liberty Borough and had received her Sacraments at the former St. Peter Catholic Church in McKeesport. She was a secretary for the former US Steel Christy Park Works and was a volunteer at the McKeesport Hospital Snack Bar. "Evelyn has earned her wings and is home with The Lord and her family; and now watches over our family." She is survived by her daughters, Lisa (Bob) Marino of Greenock, and Tina Verba of Pittsburgh, grandchildren, David (Amanda) Tison, Anthony and William Svetz, Raymond Verba and Madelynne Dickson, great-grandchildren, Jacob, Tyler and Summer Tison, brother, Bill Betters of Fort Lauderdale, FL, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister, Rose Kisner and brothers, Sam and Martin Betters. Friends are welcome Thursday, December 17 from 10 am to 1 pm. at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Thursday, December 17, at 1 pm. Interment will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
