Donald E. Stepko

Donald Edward Stepko, 89, of Elizabeth Township, died peacefully on Friday, October 2, 2015 at Kane Regional Center, McKeesport. He was born February 28, 1926 in Glassport and was the son of the late Joseph C. and Mary Skerl Stepko. He was the husband of the late Dorothy V. Ingram Stepko who died April 2, 2014. They were married for 61 years. Donald was a member of St. Michael Parish in Elizabeth Township and served for many years as an usher and at church festivals making donuts and funnel cakes. He was retired from the former Copperweld in Glassport and was a US Navy Veteran. He was also a member of American Legion Post 443 of Glassport and was an active member of the Boy Scouts of America for many years as an assistant leader. He is survived by his daughters, Danette (Wendell) Hopkin of Elizabeth Township and Delia Riley of Perryopolis, sisters, Marie Perrell of Maryland and Eleanor Danzak of Glassport, grandchildren, Shanna (Adam) Alfer, Ryan Hopkin, and Chad (Sara) Riley, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eugene Stepko. Friends are welcome Monday October 5 from 6-8 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Michael Parish on Tuesday October 6 at 10 AM, with The Rev. Thomas Wagner, officiating.
