Duane Clyde Davis

Duane Clyde Davis, 91, of Elizabeth Twp., died Thursday, September 3, 2015. He was born July 28, 1924 in Glassport and was the son of the late Clyde and Marietta Moon Davis. He was a member of Central Highlands Community United Methodist Church in Elizabeth Twp, Stephen Bayard F & AM Lodge 526, Tall Cedars of Lebanon and was also a Shriner. Duane was retired from US Steel Clairton Works. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Lois Bashforth Davis, daughters, Lois (James) Leggett of Forward Twp., and Diane (Jamie) Mitchem of Parkersburg, VA, son, Brian (Carol) Davis of Bethel Park, grandchildren, Jill (Richard) Stoner, Lisa Leggett, Rachel Davis, Danielle (Sean) Smith, and Wesley Mitchem, great-grandson, Joseph Evan Stoner, sisters, Vivian "Boots" Milligan of Denver, CO, and Thelma "Tiny" Davis of Jefferson Hills, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Dorothy Halfhill and Peggy Fuller, and a brother, Donald Davis. Friends are welcome Saturday September 5 from 2-6:00 PM, and Sunday September 6 from 12-1:00 PM, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday September 6, at 1:00 PM, with The Rev. William Starr, officiating. Interment will follow at the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Highlands Community Methodist Church, 100 Timothy Drive, Elizabeth PA 15037.
