John J. Gasda

John J. "Sonny" Gasda, 78, of Liberty Borough, died Wednesday, August 12, 2015. He was born April 1, 1937 in Mount Pleasant and was the son of the late John J. and Louise Barrick Gasda. He was a member of St. Mark Parish Parish-Liberty Worship Site, Glassport Polish Club Lodge # 750, and the Elizabeth Township Ex-serviceman's Association. John was a retired Route Manager for the McKeesport Daily News and was proprietor of C & G Garage Doors. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing, gardening and spending time at the cabin. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Betty Lou Charneicki Gasda, daughters, Rebecca A. McCorkle and Carol M. (Rod "Yoke") Yauch of Liberty Borough, grandchildren, Alana (Louis) DiLembo, Daniel Markovich Jr., and Jessica Gesmond great-grandchildren, John and McKayla Gesmond, Bree and Mikey Pisarcik, Daniel Markovich, III., and Louie DiLembo, sister, Patricia Gasda of Elizabeth Twp, brother-in-law, Chester (Michelle) Charneicki of Elizabeth Twp, sister-in-law, Connie Hill of Clairton, nephew, Maurice Charneicki, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Edward Iwanowski, brother, Michael Gasda, sister, Kathryn Nelson, and son-in-law, Dennis McCorkle. There is no visitation. Private service and entombment will be in the Grandview Cemetery, North Versailles.
