Catherine F. (Conley) Flynn, 87, of Pittsburgh, died Sunday, January 4, 2015. She was born July 5, 1927 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late James and Margaret Donnelly Conley. She was the wife of the late Patrick A. Flynn who died April 8, 1986. Catherine was a member of St. James Roman Catholic Church in Wilkinsburg and was a graduate of Slippery Rock University. She was an Elementary School Teacher and had retired from the Pittsburgh Public Schools. She had previously taught school in Washington, PA. She was a proud American, an avid reader, and was politically mined. Catherine was very caring, generous to charities and was also an animal lover. She is survived by her cousins, Joan Hruby of Elizabeth, Joyce (Bob) Fonzi of North Huntingdon, Helen (Lew) Steinkopf of Elizabeth Twp., and James (Frances) Kirkpatrick of FL, special friends, Nancy (Rowland) and Mike Mosser of Morgantown, WV, and many cousins. There is no visitation. Family and friends attended the 8:00 AM Mass at St. Michael's Parish in Elizabeth Twp., on Sunday July 5, remembering Catherine on her birthday. Private burial took place in St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles. Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township.
