John L. Gdovic

John L. Gdovic, 87, of Mount Vernon, died Monday, July 6, 2015 at home. He was born May 17, 1928 in Port Vue and was the son of the late Andrew and Mary Gdovic . He was husband of the late Lila Lee Davis Gdovic who died May 27, 2014. John was a member of St. Michael Parish, Elizabeth Twp, and the Golden Oldies Bowling League. He was also a member and secretary of the Elizabeth Township Senior Citizens. He was retired from the former General Motors-Fisher Body Plant, after 32 years of service. He is survived by daughter, Karen Martin of White Oak, and son, Lawrence "Larry" M. (Jacqueline Stroshine) Gdovic of Mount Vernon, grandsons, Bradford D. and Chase H. Martin, great-grandchildren, Joseph M., Hunter S., and Skylar N. Martin, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Agnes, Helen, and Margaret, and brothers, Michael, Andrew, Stephen and John, and grandson, Judson "Judd" E. Martin who died July 12, 2012. Friends are welcome from 2-4 and 6-8:00 PM, Wednesday, July 8 at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Michael's Parish on Thursday, July 9, at 10:00 AM with The Rev. Thomas Wagner, officiating.
