Robert F. Vennebush, 87, of Lincoln Borough, died Thursday, April 30, 2015 at home. He was born October 29, 1927 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Leo Joseph Vennebush and the late Eleanor Thomas Vennebush Boyles. Robert retired from the P & LE Railroad after 38 years of service. He served in the US Army during WWII and the Korean War and was a member of the AMVETS and American Legion. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Ruth Marion Markert Vennebush, daughters, Patricia Murtha of Lincoln, and Karen (John) Filicky of Irwin, Linda (Ed Flanigan) Rowe and Sheryl (Frank) Porco of North Huntingdon, grandchildren, Bobbie Lynn (Corey) Scherff, Kenneth and William Rowe, Dineen and Jacob Murtha, Katie Filicky and Colleen (Charles) Eberlin, and great-granddaughters, Natalie, Nicole and Megan Scherff. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Lisa Mary Vennebush. Friends are welcome Sunday May 3, from 2-4 and 6-8:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service with Military Honors will be held in the funeral home chapel on Sunday May 3 at 8:00 PM, with Pastor Janice Altenburger, officiating.
