Dorothy Mae Maley, 92, of Mount Vernon, died Monday, April 20, 2015. She was born March 7, 1923 in Gratztown and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Emily Moon Herb and wife of the late William Maley who died March 11, 2007. Bill and Dorothy "Red" were married for 59 years. Dorothy was a member of the Mount Vernon Community Presbyterian Church and the Eastern Star. She was also a volunteer at UPMC McKeesport Hospital. She is survived by her daughters, Paulette Maley Lavsa of Franklin Park and Karen C. Maley of Whitehall, sons, William Maley of Deep Creek, MD, and Richard Maley of Elizabeth Twp., brother, Daniel J. Herb of Charleroi, grandchildren, Lauren Maley, Ryan Maley, William Maley, Jr., Evan Lavsa and Kurt Lavsa, great-grandchildren, Skye, Kira and Karalynn, her "Faithful" friend, Lucy, Marcella and Fred, and grand dogs, Lady, Tucker, Teddy and Brew. She will be missed by her devoted caregivers, Carla, Janice, Trish, Bev, Rosalie, and Brenda. She was greeted in heaven by her grand dogs, Bella, Willie and Emmett. Friends are welcome Thursday, April 23 from 1-4 and 6-9:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Friday, April 24, 2015 at 10:00 AM with The Rev. Dr. L. Stephen Smith, Jr., officiating. Entombment will follow at the Mt. Vernon Cemetery Garden Mausoleum, Elizabeth Twp. Memorial contributions may be made to Meals on Wheels of Elizabeth Twp, 100 Timothy Drive, Elizabeth PA 15037.
