William Edward Mains, 85, of White Oak, passed away peacefully at home with his loving wife, Lois and his family at his side on Tuesday, March 10, 2015. He was born August 25, 1929 in Greenock and was the son of the late Edward "Ted" Mains and the late Margaret Heholt Mains. William was a member of the Greenock United Methodist Church and was a US Army Veteran. He married the love of his life, Lois Railingshafer Mains and started his own successful landscaping business. They were married for over 63 years. In addition to his wife, he is survived by sons, Jay William (Sandy) Mains of East Pittsburgh, and Paul Edward (Rene) Mains of Level Green, sister, Jean (Leonard) Lukowski of Greenock, brother, Edward "Ted" (Roberta) Mains of White Oak, grandchildren, Sharon, Adam, Joshua and Tyler, great-granddaughter, Raylee Mains, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Greenwood. Friends are welcome Thursday March 12 from 2-4 and 6-9:00 PM and Friday March 13 from 1:00 PM until time of service at 2:30 PM, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. The Rev. Edwin Pope will officiate. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery Chapel Mausoleum, Elizabeth Twp.
