Virginia E. Check

Virginia E. Check, 93, of McKeesport, died Monday, January 19, 2015 at home where she was cared for by her beloved family. She was born November 15, 1921 in Charleroi and was the daughter of the late William and Katherine Hornbake Lauderback. She was the wife of the late Edward C. Check who died March 23, 1999. Virginia was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church in McKeesport. She was a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing and was a former Head Nurse at Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. She is survived by her daughters, Karen E. Check of McKeesport, Melinda L. Check of Swissvale, and Virginia (Victor) Paez of Slidell, LA, sons, Timothy E. Check of McKeesport, Forrest E. (Jean) Check of Port Vue, and Christopher E. "Eddie" Check of Carlisle, grandsons, Damian Nunimaker of Atlanta, GA and Zachary Paez of Slidell, LA, and great-grandchildren, Mick and Stella Paez. Private visitation took place at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated on Friday January 23 in the Corpus Christi Catholic Church with The Rev. Michael Maranowski, officiating.
