Jack Edward "Bucky" Barr, 93, of Elizabeth Twp, died Friday, November 21, 2014 at the Golden Living Center of Monroeville. He was born August 6, 1921 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Anthony and Laura Kujawa Wisniewski. Jack was a WWII Veteran and served in the US Army as a staff sergeant under Generals McBride and Patton in the European Theatre, St. Geneva, France. He was awarded 2 Silver Stars, the Bronze Star, the Purple Heart with 3 Oak Clusters, the French Croix de Guerre, and the African Middle Eastern Medal with five bronze stars. He is a distinguished member of The Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hall of Valor in Oakland. He retired from Fisher Body after 34 years of service. Jack was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was past commander of McKeesport Veterans Post 514, and was a life member of The American Legion, AMVETS, the Eleventh Ward Welfare Association and the Croatian Club in Versailles. He is survived by his wife, Emily Sebbens Barr, daughters, Laura Barr of White Oak, Cynthia (Petros) Christofi of Greenock, son, Timothy (Patti) Barr of Birdsboro, grandchildren, Alexis, and John Christofi of Greenock. There is no visitation. Funeral service with Military Honors took place Wednesday November 26, 2014 at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, Bridgeville.
