Sylvia Mae Ganassi

Sylvia Mae Ganassi, 96, of Greenock, died Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at her home. She was born June 19, 1918 in Greenock and was the daughter of the late Dario and Feame (Nizzoli) Pigozzi. Sylvia and her late husband, Mario Ganassi were married for 43 years. She was a member of the Greenock United Methodist Church and was a Past President of the Elizabeth Township Historical Society. Sylvia enjoyed playing cards with her club girls and treasured her 2 trips to Italy. She is survived by her son, Glenn E. Ganassi of Mount Pleasant, granddaughters, Michelle and husband Seth Forry of Berlin, and Jennifer and husband Alan Anderson of Mount Pleasant, great-granddaughters, Sara Forry and Emma Mae Anderson, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Dario, Jr."Nick", Wayne "Zeke", Edmund "Chuck", and Glenn Pigozzi. Friends are welcome Friday, November 28 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Saturday November 29 from 10-11AM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday, November 29, at 11:00 AM with Pastor Edwin Pope, officiating. Interment will follow at the West Newton Cemetery.
