Alphonse T. LoBue, 77, of Greenock, died Thursday, October 16, 2014. He was born August 4, 1937 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Gaetano "Tom" and Amelia Bianchi LoBue. He was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth Twp., and the Sons and Daughters of Italy in McKeesport. Alphonse was a Research Engineer for US Steel in Monroeville and had served in the Army Reserve. After surviving a heart attack in 1974, Alphonse became a runner and was known affectionately as "The Greenock Runner". He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Claudia Belkowski LoBue, son, David J. (Barb) LoBue and daughter, Lauren Means of Greenock, sister, Paula (Jim) Hagan of Excelsior, MN, twin sisters, Thomsine Kiggins of Glassport and Connie (Charles) Dunn of Rostraver, grandchildren, Jessica (Andrew) McNicholas, Derek LoBue and Anthony Migliori, great-granddaughter, Claudia McNicholas, sister-in-law, Darleen LoBue of Library, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Jack T. LoBue. Friends are welcome Sunday, October 19 from 1-4 and 6-9, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Michael Roman Catholic Church on Monday, October 20, 2014, at 12:00 noon with The Rev. Thomas Wagner, officiating.
