Donald H. Rollin

Donald H. Rollin, 82, of Elizabeth Twp., died Saturday, October 11, 2014. He was born March 18, 1932 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Harry E. and Eleanor Nilson Rollin. He was a member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church, McKeesport, and was a former church council member there. He was a member and past president of the Retired Bell Pioneers, and was a former loan officer and Board Member of McKeesport Bell F.C.U. Donald was a 50 year member of F & AM Youghiogheny Lodge 583 and American Legion Post 701 in White Oak. He had worked for over 40 years in the Communications Industry and had worked for Bell of Pennsylvania, AT&T, and Alcatel-Lucent. Donald was a US Army Veteran and had served in the Korean War in the 25th Infantry Division. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Virginia Kaylor Rollin, daughter, Kristin Donell Rollin of Carlsbad, CA, brother, Larry Nilson (Gail) Rollin of Cleveland, GA, nieces, Lyn Lucas of Gibsonia, Lisa Rollin Berg of Pooler, GA, and Karen Rollin (Michael) Berman of Philadelphia, nephew, David (Karen) Borcik of McKeesport, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Joan Rollin (Walter) Borcik of West Mifflin. Friends are welcome Tuesday, October 14 from 2-4 and 7-9, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, October 15, at 10:00 AM with Pastor Warren Smith, officiating. Entombment with Military Honors will follow at the Lebanon Church Cemetery Mausoleum in West Mifflin. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Lung Association, P.O.
