LeRoy Moffa

LeRoy Moffa, 79, of Mount Vernon, died Saturday, August 16, 2014 at home. He was born August 16, 1935 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Daniel and Louise Yenerell Moffa. He was a member of Park Baptist Church, and was a Deacon and Trustee there. LeRoy was a Journeyman Electrician and had worked for Elizabeth Carbide. He had previously worked for the former US Steel Duquesne Works and Gilbert Lumber & Supply Co. LeRoy was a US Army Veteran and had served during the Korean War. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Nancy L. Hoerr Moffa, daughter, Leigh Ann Moffa of Elizabeth Twp., sons, Larry (Joan) Moffa of Greenock and Len (Lisa) Moffa of Elizabeth Twp., step-daughter, Deanna (Thomas) Nicholson of McKeesport, sisters, Theresa Wise of West Palm Beach, FL, Carmella (Bill) Knight of White Oak, and Mary Louise Moffa of North Versailles, grandchildren, Shane, Meghan, Natalie, Michael, Nicholas, Jared and Jonathan Moffa, and Joey and Daniel Nicholson, sister-in-law, Peggy Moffa of Middletown, OH, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Rae Weber Moffa who died August 20, 1984 and his brother, Joseph Moffa. There is no visitation. Memorial service will be held Tuesday August 19 at 11:00 in the Park Baptist Church, with The Rev. Rudy Mayak, officiating. Military Honors will follow there. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Park Baptist Church Memorial Fund at 749 Center Street, Versailles, PA 15132.
