Joan "Jane" Kiger

Joan "Jane" Kiger, 82, of Versailles, formerly of Elizabeth Twp., died Sunday, July 6, 2014. She was born April 11, 1932 in Clairton and was the daughter of the late Alfred and Stella Kunz Grimenstein and was the wife of the late Charles Edward "Ed" Kiger. She was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, and Women of The Moose. Jane had worked for G.C. Murphy Co, Clairton, Elizabeth Moose, Elizabeth Forward High School, and Allegheny County Emergency Management. She is survived by daughters, Judith A. (John) DeCenzo of McKeesport, and Lucy J. (Mike) Staub of North Huntingdon, son, Edward A. (Donna) Kiger of Buena Vista, brothers, Alfred Grimenstein of Las Vegas, NV, and Larry (Lois) Grimenstein of Cincinnati, OH, sisters, Laura Stetar of Belle Vernon, and Helen (Bob) Berchok of Elizabeth Twp., grandchildren, Adam and Megan Kugler, Samantha and Deanna DeCenzo, and Joshua Kiger, daughter-in-law, Colleen Kiger of Buena Vista, brother-in-law, Clyde Brodell of Las Vegas, and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her son, Bruce A. Kiger who died November 9, 2012, brother, Robert Grimenstein, and sisters, Mildred Warnick, Kathleen Wooster and Thelma Brodell. Friends are welcome from Thursday, July 10 from 1-4 and 6-9 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Funeral service will be held Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church on Friday July 11 at 10:00AM., with The Rev. Linda Theophilus, officiating.
