Edgar Otis Klingensmith, 79, of Boston, Elizabeth Twp., died Thursday, April 24, 2014. He was born February 17, 1935 in Port Vue, and was the son of the late John Franklin Klingensmith and the late Elsie Daisy Thomas Klingensmith. He was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church, Greenock, and served in the US Army. He was a partner of K & S Contracting, and had previously worked for the Edward L. Kemp Co., for over 25 years. Ed loved gardening, making salsa and peppers, music, dancing, his German heritage, sharing stories, construction, all sports including softball and golf, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and his family, which meant the most to him. For 52 years he was the dedicated and loving husband of Hazel Ann Wilding Klingensmith. In addition, he is survived by his daughter, Kimberly Ann and her husband Jeff Wilson of Clifton Park, NY, brother, John "Jack" Klingensmith of Greenock, grandchildren, Candice Shea Mellon of Fort Lauderdale, FL., Dane Tyler Mellon and his fiancée, Mindy Krowicki of Saratoga Springs, NY., and Sofia Elise Wilson of Clifton Park, NY., great-granddaughter, Charlie Shea Mellon, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Jeanette Minnick, Norma Barncord, and Carole Murray. Friends are welcome Sunday April 27 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, April 28, at 11:00 AM with The Rev. Erin E. Evans, officiating.
