William Jacob Gossman

William Jacob "Shorty" Gossman, 89, of Elizabeth Twp., died Sunday, April 20, 2014. He was born January 8, 1925 in McKeesport and was the son of the late Jacob and Edith Kreiger Gossman. He was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church, Elizabeth Twp., and was a retired Draftsman from Westinghouse Bettis Atomic Plant. Shorty was a US Navy Veteran and served during WWII. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy D. Pohodich Gossman, daughter, Janice Elaine Gossman of Erie, son, William Michael Gossman of Pittsburgh, brother, Thomas Gossman of Elizabeth Twp., and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Gossman. Friends are welcome Tuesday, April 22 from 4-8 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at the St. Michael Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 23, at 10:00 AM with Rev. Thomas Wagner, officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the St. Joseph Cemetery, North Versailles.
