Kenneth Samuel Butler, 61, of Elizabeth Twp., died unexpectedly on Saturday, March 15, 2014 at home. He was born May 14, 1952 in McKeesport and was the son of the late William K. and Audrey M. Oats Butler. He was a member of the Greenock United Methodist Church and worked for Versailles Boro. Ken was a Journeyman Bricklayer and retired from US Steel Clairton Works after 30 years of service. He enjoyed football, baseball, horseshoes, and working around his home. He is survived by his wife, Carol King Butler, son, Lee Samuel Butler of Elizabeth Twp., mother-in-law, Dorothy King of Rio Rancho, NM, sisters-in-law, Gloria King of Tucson, AZ, and Judy Butler of Elizabeth Twp., nieces, Michele King of Tucson, AZ, and Jennifer Zilla of Greenville, aunt, Fay Peters and cousin, Carol Sue McGrew of Dravosburg and his dog, Abbie. He was preceded in death by his son, Lucas Kenneth Butler who died March 15, 2002 and brother, William R. Butler who died November 2, 1985. Friends are welcome Wednesday, March 19 from 2-8:00 PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held at the funeral home chapel on Thursday, March 20, at 11:00 AM. Private burial will be in the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
