Robert "Bob" Albert Douty, 81, of Monroeville, went home to be with his Lord on Monday, March 10, 2014. He was born September 11, 1932 in Bloomfield and was the son of the late Albert and Violet Haigh Douty. He was a member of Beulah Presbyterian Church since 1989, and was also a 33rd Degree Master Mason and member of F & AM Gysuata Lodge 57 and the Knights Templar. He was a member of Norwin Elks Lodge 2313, Monroeville American Legion Post 0820, and the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was Metallurgist and Registered Professional Engineer and was a life member of the American Welding Society and ASM International. He recently received a 60 Year Continuous Member Pin from the International Brotherhood of Boilermakers. Bob was a US Army Veteran of the Korean War and served in the Headquarter Battery 13th Field Artillery Battalion. He received the National Defense Service Medal, Korean Service Medal and the United Nations Service Medal. He received his B.S. and M.S. from the University of Pittsburgh and had all course work completed for a PHD in Materials Science. He is survived by his wife, Mona Rae Stuckey Douty, daughter, Marjorie Ann Douty and son, Robert A. Douty of Pittsburgh. There is no visitation. Memorial service with Military Honors will be held at the Beulah Presbyterian Church, 2500 McCrady Road, Churchill, PA 15235 on Saturday, April 5 at 1:00 PM, with Pastor Cynthia Reyes-Fillmore, officiating.
