Howard A. (Hank) Zwald, 82, of Elizabeth, passed away at his home on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 following a lengthy struggle with cancer. He was born September 21, 1931 in Elizabeth and was the son of the late Fredrick A. and Rebecca Hood Zwald. He was preceded in death by his brother, Fredrick (Bud) Zwald of Ft. Worth TX and his sister, Margaret Scott of Wichita Falls, TX. He is survived by his wife, Carol J. Caruthers Zwald and her sons, David (Elaine) Rigby and her grandchildren of South Park, and Erik Rigby of Brooklyn, NY, sister-in-law, JoAn Zwald of Fort Worth TX, and sister-in-law, Violet (Caruthers) Ed and brother in law, George Ed of North Huntingdon, and nieces and nephews of Ft. Worth, TX, Burkburnett, TX, and Corpus Christi, TX. Hank was a graduate of Washington and Jefferson College and served in the US Army (Paratroopers) as a Sergeant during the Korean War. He retired from DeChicchis Construction. He was an avid golfer and also thoroughly enjoyed reading, especially WWII history. There is no visitation.
