John J. "Jack" Lawson, Jr., 82, of McKeesport, died Saturday, January 25, 2014. He was born January 5, 1932 in McKeesport and was the son of the late John J. Lawson, Sr. and the late Hannah Spiegelberg Lawson. He was a retired City of McKeesport Firefighter and was a US Navy Veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the McKeesport VFW Post 514, White Oak American Legion Post 701 and the Veterans Honor Guard. He was also a member of F&AM East McKeesport Lodge # 765 and the Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He is survived by his wife, Jane Arlene Lawson, sons, John J. (Lynne) Lawson, III, of Greenville, NC, William E. Lawson of Lincoln, and David A. (Paula) Lawson of Allentown, grandchildren, Stephanie DeAngelis, Corinna Lawson, and Ian Richard Lawson, a great-grandson, Colton Thomas DeAngelis and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother, William E. Lawson. There is no visitation. Memorial Service with Military Honors will be held at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies, in Bridgeville at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at 1-855-448-3997.
