Robert Nelson Phillips

Robert Nelson Phillips, 84, of McKeesport, died Tuesday, January 7, 2014 in UPMC McKeesport Hospital. He was born June 23, 1929 in Jackson Twp, Greene County, and was the son of the late William Nelson Phillips and the late Dorothy Woodruff Phillips. He was a member of Peace Evangelical Lutheran Church in Greenock, and the White Oak American Legion. He was a former member of the Dravosburg Lions Club. Bob had worked for US Steel National Tube Works where he was the #1 Safety Man for 19 years. He later worked for and retired from the Port Authority of Allegheny County. He was also a Stone Mason. He is survived by his wife of 19 years, Diane Trudy Hanko Kossuth Phillips, son, Gregory (Linda) Phillips of Sarver, daughter, Jolene Kossuth of McKeesport, brothers, Bernard (Donna Jean) Phillips of Houston, TX, and Sherman Phillips of Hays, 8 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Phillips, daughter, Jennifer Bezilla, and brothers, Harold, Wilbur and Eugene Phillips. There is no visitation and services are private.
