John "Jack" Harold Rudd, Jr., 85, of White Oak, died Thursday, December 19, 2013. He was born September 21, 1928 in McKeesport. He was the son of the late John Harold Rudd, Sr. and the late Helen Livingstone Rudd and was the husband of the late Irene Takacs Rudd who died June 14, 1995. Jack was a member of Sampson-Mills Presbyterian Church, F & AM Duquesne-McKeesport Lodge 631, Tall Cedars of Lebanon and the Syria Shrine. He was retired crane repairman for the former US Steel National Tube Works and served in the US Army during the Korean War. He is survived by his son, John Robert Rudd of White Oak, sister, Dorothy (David) Gilbert of Elizabeth Twp, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Irene Keeler. Friends are welcome Sunday, December 22 from 2-6 PM and Monday December 23 from 12 to 1PM at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. (Masonic service on Sunday at 5:30 PM.) Funeral service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Monday, December 23, at 1:00 PM with his nephew, The Rev. David S. Gilbert, III., officiating.
