Alice May Griffin

Alice May Griffin, 96, of Greenock, died Thursday, December 12, 2013. She was born May 24, 1917 in McKeesport and was the daughter of the late Robert and Margaret Holden Hughes. She was the wife of the late George H. Griffin. Alice was a member of St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, and the Crafters there. She had worked at the former Byers Children's Store in McKeesport and was a volunteer at Kane Regional Center in McKeesport for more than 20 years. She is survived by her daughter, Pamela M. (Robert) Simpson of Charlottesville, VA, son, Dennis H. (Dorothy) Griffin of Elizabeth Twp., grandchildren, David and Mark Simpson, and Ashley Griffin-McKinsey, great-grandchildren, Jeremy and Chrissie Simpson, and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sisters, Phyllis Kasmarik and Margaret Neumeister and brother, Jack Hughes. The family would like to thank Alice's caregivers, Mara, Becky and Hal. Private visitation and funeral service took place Saturday December 14 in the chapel of the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. The Rev.
