E. Philip Hruska

E. Philip Hruska, 87, of Greenock, died Wednesday, November 20, 2013 at home. He was born June 6, 1926 in North Braddock and was the son of the late Philip Clement and Mary Bogdany Hruska. He was the husband of the late Constance Morsillo Hruska who died November 6, 2003. He was a member of St. Michael Roman Catholic Church in Elizabeth Twp, The Golden Oldies Bowling League, Elizabeth Twp., Senior Citizens, McKeesport Choraliers, Central Vol. Fire Co., and The Tin Can Sailors. Philip was a US Navy Veteran of WWII and served on the USS Cunningham DD 752. He enjoyed Bowling and Woodcrafts. He was a retired Tool Designer for the former Fisher Body and had previously worked for US Steel. He was a graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Aeronautics. He is survived by his daughters, Deborah (Andrew) Babb of Lafayette, LA , Donna Hruska of Greenock, and Diane (David) Muka of Irwin, daughter-in-law, Marta Hruska of Gaithersburg, MD, grandchildren, Eric and Kati Hruska and Eden Babb, brothers, Charles (Betty ) Hruska of Wilmington, DE, and Joseph (Mary Lou) Hruska of Swissvale, and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his son, Thomas Hruska, who died September 24, 2011, sister, Mary Morgan and brother, William Hruska. Friends are welcome Friday, November 22 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at the St. Michael Roman Catholic Church on Saturday, November 23, at 10:00 AM with The Rev. Thomas Wagner, officiating. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
