Arthur Clyde Ringer, Sr.

Arthur Clyde Ringer Sr, 86, of Boston, died Thursday, September 19, 2013. He was born February 13, 1927 in South Connellsville and was the son of the late Arthur Charles and Flora Katherine Wiltrout Ringer. He was the husband of the late Shirley Ann Younkin Ringer who died April 8, 2011. Arthur was a member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church, Elizabeth Twp, and attended the Salvation Army Services in McKeesport. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII and received the Army of Occupation Medal and the WWII Victory Medal. He was a former Chaplain for the McKeesport Auxiliary Police and was retired from US Steel Clairton Works. He is survived by daughters, Linda S. Ring of McKeesport, Deborah K. Salisbury of Versailles, Cynthia J. Cottom of North Port, FL, son, Arthur C. Ringer, Jr. of Versailles, sister, Betty Beasley of Bedford, brothers, Albert E. Ringer of South Connellsville and Charles Ringer of San Antonio, TX, 11 Grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren,1 great-great-granddaughter, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Joyce Barno Ringer, grandson, Kenneth Linn Ring, Jr., great-grandchildren, Donny Holcombe and Nicholas Dainty, and sisters, Eleanor McFadden and Loretta Strickler. Friends are welcome Saturday September 21 from 10-11 AM, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield St., Boston, Elizabeth Township. Service will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday September 21 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Terry Johnson, officiating. Military Honors will follow. Private burial will be in Round Hill Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp. Condolences may be made at gilbertfuneralhomeandcrematory.com
