Roy R. Salzer

Roy R. Salzer, 78, of Elizabeth, died Thursday, September 12, 2013 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born February 4, 1935 in Pittsburgh and was the son of the late William and Amanda Doerr Salzer. He was husband of the late Beverly Ann Fleegle Salzer who died August 9, 2005. Roy was a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church, and was also a member and Past Master of F&AM Wilson Lodge 714. He was a US Air Force Veteran of the Korean War and was a retired Heavy Equipment Operator with Union Local 66. He is survived by his sons, Russell and wife Theresa Salzer of Brooksville, FL, Robert Salzer of Elizabeth and Randy and wife Sahlee Salzer of Sumter, SC, grandchildren, Katrina, Christian, Cameron, and Mallory, sisters, Wilma Opfer of Lincoln, and Winifred Mathers and husband James Fellabaum of Elrama and nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Lapp, and brothers, John, Thomas, William, Walter and Richard Salzer. There is no visitation. Private burial will be in the Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills, Arrangements are by the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township.
