Elizabeth "Betty" Lovasic, 82, of Greenock, died Monday, July 29, 2013 at home. She was born August 24, 1930 at home in Boston, daughter of Russian and Ukrainian immigrants, the late John and Helen Lesko Lucza. She is survived by her husband of 63 years Clarence M. Lovasic, who cared for her after a stroke 13 years ago, daughters, Carol (Timothy) Dailey of Elizabeth Twp, and Michelle (Brian) Merten of Greenock, son, C. Michael (Amy) Lovasic of Greenock, grandchildren, Andrew Holsing and Emily Merten, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by brothers, Charles Lucza, and Andrew and John Lucas, sisters, Ann Caton, Mary Cleary, Helen Brkovich and Margaret Arillotta, and her dogs, Chica and Mandy.Elizabeth had worked for the former G.C. Murphy Co. Home Office, McKeesport and McKeesport National Bank. She was an artist and baker and was so proud of her heritage. She loved her grandchildren, Russian and Tamburitzans dance groups, and watching the movie, Dr. Zhivago. She was the last surviving sibling and will be joining them hoeing the cornfield, sitting at Helen's kitchen table, drinking coffee, making stuffed cabbage, telling stories about growing up on the Clay farm, and laughing so hard the other would have to finish their thoughts. Have Fun, Mummy. Friends are welcome Thursday, August 1 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the Gilbert Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 6028 Smithfield Street, Boston, Elizabeth Township. Funeral service will begin in the funeral home chapel on Friday, August 2, at 10:00 AM. Graveside service will follow at the Mount Vernon Cemetery, Elizabeth Twp.
